This graduate course is focused on the methodologies of analyzing and logically designing a computer-based information system used in business. Emphasis is placed upon the Information system development techniques and tools in which technical, organizational, and human aspects of a system are analyzed and changed in the hope of creating an improved system. Thus, the course covers managerial and technical topics related to managing systems development projects, including organizational problem solving, software used to manage projects, analyze and document systems, design new approaches, and implement the plan. It also introduces the recent coverage of alternative methodologies to SDLC, such as rapid prototyping and agile development techniques.
