Disaster Nursing (Lecture Series)
This course deals with concepts, principles, theories, techniques and strategies in disaster risk-reduction and management to groups of clients in any setting. The learners are expected to demonstrate safe, appropriate and holistic care to clients utilizing the nursing process in reducing the risk of disaster to help save lives and build resilience.
SY 2021-2022 CARE OF CHILD AND ADOLESCENT (WELL CLIENTS)
This course deals with concepts, principles, theories and techniques in the nursing care of individuals and families during childbearing and childrearing years toward health promotion, disease prevention, restoration and maintenance, and rehabilitation. The learners are expected to provide safe, appropriate and holistic nursing care to clients utilizing the nursing process.
CARE OF CLIENTS WITH LIFE-THREATENING CONDITIONS, ACUTELY ILL/MULTI-ORGAN PROBLEMS, HIGH ACUITY AND EMERGENCY SITUATION
This course deals with the concepts, principles, theories and techniques of nursing care of sick adult clients with life-threatening conditions, acutely-ill/ multi-organ problems, high acuity and emergency situation toward health promotion, disease prevention, restoration and maintenance, and rehabilitation. The learners are expected to provide safe, appropriate and holistic nursing care to groups of clients with health problems and special needs utilizing the nursing process.
BIOCHEMISTRY
This
course provides the students with better understanding of the different basic
concepts and principles of the chemistry of life. Included in this course is
the brief review of the fundamental principles in organic chemistry and
biological science like studying the conventional chemical symbols and
functional groups of organic compounds as well as the structures and functions
of the fundamental unit of life-the cell. The important part of this course is
studying the foundational principles of biochemistry comprising of the four
major groups of biomolecules such as carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and
nucleic acids. Moreover, this covered the topics about carbohydrates, Lipids,
Proteins, Enzymes and Vitamins, Nucleic Acid, Biochemical Energy Production,
Carbohydrate Metabolism, Lipid Metabolism, and Protein Metabolism.
Physical Education 2
Fundamental of Rhythmic Dances involves the manifestation of the physical, mental and social response of individual to the regular pattern of rhythm or sound. This course also deals with both theoretical and practical aspects of rhythmic activities and fundamental dance terms and steps commonly used in dancing. Students will also be given the opportunity to follow and interpret dance instruction. The active involvement of the students is emphasized.
FUNDAMENTALS OF NURSING
This course is an introduction to basic nursing concepts and skills. Nurses today must be able to
grow in order to meet the demands of a dramatically changing health care system. They need to
utilize the nursing process, evidence-based practice; students learn the specific concepts needed in
the planning of nursing care addressing a client’s cognitive, interpersonal, psychomotor skills,
psychosocial and developmental needs, protection, safety and basic physiologic needs.
