This course covers strategic, defense and security studies to library information sources. Whereas platform security relates to securing computing systems against unwanted access and use. This includes issues such as information management, information privacy and data integrity in a library and would include personnel security and policies, steps taken for effective backups, and the physical integrity of computing facilities. The student will develop a preemptive and recovery plan for both natural and cyber disasters.

This course an introduction to computer-based information tools that are fundamental for librarians and information professionals. Includes concepts in information technology such as hardware and software, networks, the Internet, trends and issues of ICT in libraries.
System Analysis and Design in Libraries and Information Centers SY 24-25
This covers a systematic methodology for analyzing problems or opportunities in relation to library processes, determining what role computer-based technologies can play to address library needs, articulating requirements for the technology solution, specifying alternative approaches to acquire the technology capabilities needed to address the requirements and specifying the requirements for the information system solution. Student will create a project proposal for library operation and services system this is base from the feasibility study or preliminary investigation they created last midterm.

Web Technologies in Libraries and Information Centers
The course covers the
design, development, implementation, testing, and evaluation of web-based
applications with the integration of digital media. Students shall be exposed to different web
technologies particularly those which are applicable to libraries and
information centers. The student shall develop a library-related webpage.
Digital Library 23-24
An overview of the
theoretical and practical aspects of digital library activities, focusing on
the sources, creation, organization, and management of as well as access to
digital resources. Also includes trends and issues related to digital
environments focusing on digitization of library materials.
EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY

This course explores
school and academic libraries, examining their missions and purposes, their
educational cultures, their principal constituents, their structural
partnerships, their main functions, the ways they are organized, and variations
among types of libraries. The course considers political, financial,
intellectual, and human resources needed for effective operation.
LIEC 325 FOREIGN LANGUAGE
This course will introduce students to basic knowledge and skills of communicating new language and achieve the beginning levels of fluency. This course is designed to develop fundamental reading and study strategies at the basic level needed for curriculum programs. Emphasis is placed on building vocabulary and cultural knowledge, improving comprehension, and developing study strategies on basic-level college materials and literary works. Participate in multilingual communities at both home and abroad by communicating and interacting with cultural competence.
LIA 224 ENGLISH PROFICIENCY PROGRAM
This course has been specially included to help students improve their communication skill in English; Speaking, Listening and Reading skills to raise their confidence level and be better equipped to compete in the job market. Emphasis is on the development of confidence, vocabulary, grammar, diction, pronunciation, body language and expression. In order to function in a range of settings and for a variety of objectives, one must be able to communicate effectively in English.

Organization of Information Resources II
LIS 3113 - INTRODUCTION TO RECORDS MANAGEMENT & ARCHIVES - 2022
This course provides an overview to archival theory and philosophy, archives principles and practices, and records management framework and approaches. The course aims to expand one’s general perspective on information science while also providing a holistic foundation, both in principles and praxis, to those individuals aspiring to pursue further studies and training in archiving and records management. At the end of course, the students will archive the collected documents with respect to their provenance and original order, to protect their context and to achieve physical or intellectual control over the materials.
LIS 229-DATABASE DESIGN FOR LIBRARIES
The main goal of the course
is to expose students on physical database designs particularly in parallel to
library information systems that shall provide accurate and timely
information. Topics shall Storage and file structure, indexed files,
hashed files, signature files, database efficiency and tuning. The
students shall also learn how to design SQL Queries for a relational database
to satisfy the end-users’ information / data needs.
